Industry Association Partners with RELATED to Offer Customized Absence Management Programs to Members

The Challenge

In 2012, an international insurance marketplace representing underwriters from more than a dozen syndicates entered the New Jersey Temporary Disability Benefits (NJ TDB) market for the first time in its history utilizing RELATED’s systems, staff, and expertise. In 2012, the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) endorsed RELATED as its exclusive provider of customized leave of absence programs to their member hospitals.

RELATED provided all things LOA including FMLA, temporary disability (NJ TDB), Family Leave Insurance (NJ FLI), supplemental pay, and employer-sponsored leaves.

The Solution

Through RELATED, NJHA member hospitals were able to integrate disparate policies and products to ensure all aspects of the program were compliant with state and federal law, were consistently communicated and administered, and were cost-effective, reducing both administrative and claims costs by more than 30% in the first year. This cost reduction has been maintained ever since.

The Results

Partnering with RELATED freed participating hospital employers from the burden and liability of processing leaves. We continue to empower them with real-time data and analytics to inform staffing and other operational decisions, all while ensuring healthcare workers receive dedicated expert support during the time of leave.
